Summary

This qualification reflects the role of enrolled nurses with advanced skills who work in a specialised area of nursing practice. At this level, enrolled nurses integrate and adapt specialised, technical and theoretical knowledge to address a diverse range of clinical situations and challenges in their area of specialisation. They contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practice using research and participation in broader organisational quality processes. Enrolled nurses retain responsibility for their own actions while remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse/Midwife for all delegated functions.

Professional Practice Experience

Students will be required to undertake PEP within their own workplace. The student will be required to have specific assessments signed off by a registered nurse within the workplace as part of their clinical practice experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may be able to increase the length of their studies if they wish to. Recognition of past experience and/ or qualifications gained elsewhere is also acknowledged. Applications can be made for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer. These will be assessed according to the ALACC’s policy & procedures to determine if/how much advanced standing will be granted. This qualification holds National Recognition.

Career Pathway

Successful completion of this course may enable you to practice as an Advanced Enrolled Nurse and/or complete a Bachelor of Nursing:

Entry criteria

Must be an enrolled nurse who is currently registered by AHPRA and working in their chosen specialty area. Must have completed a Diploma of Nursing qualification.

English Requirement (Equivalent to IELTS Score) - 5.5.
