Summary
This qualification reflects the role of workers participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Workers may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, completing specialised tasks and functions in relation to leisure and health. While workers are responsible for their own outputs, work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisation guidelines.
Qualification rules
To achieve a CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure and Health 17 units, consisting of 10 core units 7 elective units, must be completed.

Career Opportunities in the Industry
This qualification addresses work in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centers and work under professional supervision within defined organization guidelines or as sole practitioners Hays offers a range of activities in conjunction with St Theresa’s Aged Retirement Services (STARS) who come to all functions and planned activities held by the Leisure and Health students. This regular event can range from all day Multicultural Events, to short lifestyle activities, to exercise class and lunch. This group of 30 Aged Clients with 10 volunteers also hosts functions which students from Hays attend - including Leisure and Health week activities eg. Aquarium visit, where students support Leisure and Health peoples living in the community in a safe and equable manner.
Assessment Methods
The following assessment methods (but not limited to these) will be used: Direct Observation, Assignments, Project, Student Presentations, Case Study Practical Demonstrations, Written Assessments and Log Book.

Have completed Year 12 or equivalent
Have obtained an IELTS band score of at least 5.5 - or equivalent test score; or
Have completed a Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level Training Package course in Australia; or,
Have completed any Certificate III or Certificate IV in ESL or EAL from the ESL/EAL Framework (VIC)
Above 18 years of age.
