Summary

The CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is designed for those with a passion to provide care, nurturing and education to children from infant age right up to pre-school. By undertaking this nationally accredited qualification, you will be provided with the knowledge and skills required to care for children in the following ways;

Supervise and engage in the activities of a group of children during the day that you are responsible for;

Ensure a clean and healthy environment for all children;

Participate in supervising indoor/outdoor environments to provide safety for the children at all times;

Assist staff in the daily routine of appropriate early childhood education and experiences.

The Yorke Institute Experience

Yorke Institute will organize all work placement hours for you at various prestigious child care facilities. This will be conducted in an actual operational child care facility so that you will be able to interact with skilled staff and children. This interaction will provide you with a greater depth of understanding and knowledge of how the facility operates.

Yorke Institute has chosen facilities that have ongoing employment opportunities that may result in employment for students who successful complete their qualification.

We provide relevant advice and learning direction. A pre-training review to assess course suitability and entry level for each individual will be conducted. This may result in a recommended learning pathway to help you meet course specific requirements.

We offer guidance and support. Our courses are structured with due dates and a realistic number of assessments to assist you to complete the course requirements with ease. On campus learning provides students with face to face contact, and offers the opportunity to study in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Work Placement

You will be required to complete 120 hours of work placement during the course. Yorke Institute will organize the work placement. Before you undertake work placement, working with children check and/or police check is required.

Pathways from the qualification

After achieving the CHC30113 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification, Learners may wish to continue on CHC50113 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Exit Points

At any point prior to the completion of the qualification, a student may request a Statement of Attainment for an individual unit or units where competence has been assessed.

At the successful completion of the qualification, CHC30113 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification will be issued

Entry criteria

  • Yorke requires students to be over 18 years of age. Students must be able to read and understand English to undertake this course. Prospective students will be required to undertake a pre-training review, which will include Language Literacy and Numeracy testing, to ensure the course is suitable.
  • IEvidence of proficiency in English of IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL score of 550 or Satisfactory completion of ELICOS at upper intermediate level or any other evidence accepted by Yorke Institute
