Summary

The Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) is designed for students who already hold a Commercial Pilot License and comprises of Multi-engine (MEA) are training and Instrument rating (IFRA) curriculum.

At the end of the course, successful students will be awarded a Diploma of Aviation, and will qualify for a CASA MEA CIR assessment.

The course is designed to prepare students for their first job in aviation either as a Charter pilot or possibly a First officer in an airline.

Units of Competency

To gain the Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) a successful assessment outcome for the following 12 core units and 1 elective unit must be achieved: A total of 13 units of competency comprising: 12 core units listed below plus 1 general elective unit from the general elective units. The general elective unit must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification

Entry criteria

The Pre-Requisites for the course are;

  • A current Class 1 Australian Medical
  • Unless secondary school has been conducted in English, an IELTS overall score of 6.0. (Either academic or general assessments)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • At least 10 years of education
  • Australian Commercial Pilot License(Aero planes)
