This intensive course covers all the basics in two streams, providing a perfect starting point for your engineering, drafting or design career.
The Civil Engineering Design stream will prepare you for a career alongside civil and structural engineers designing and constructing buildings, bridges, railways, roads and other projects.
If you choose Mechatronic Engineering Design, you'll be prepared to for a career assisting senior designers, production supervisors and engineers with the design, development, manufacture, installation, operation and management of machines, mechanical and mechatronic systems and robotic devices, among others.
Melbourne Polytechnic’s dedicated state-of-the-art engineering facilities include a purpose built Building and Construction training centre, AutoCAD Training Centre, industrial robots and fully equipped workshops.
CAREER PATHWAYS
Melbourne Polytechnic’s Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology is a widely-recognised qualification within the engineering sector. It’s a great entry point to the industry or a foundation for further studies. You’ll graduate ready to work as a computer aided design (CAD) draftsperson, engineering assistant, assistant project manager or construction engineer, construction materials lab technician or automated systems worker, depending on your stream. You may work in a range of industries, including building construction, steel fabrication, machinery handling or food and beverage production.
Melbourne Polytechnic provides seamless pathways towards higher qualifications. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Diploma, you will receive 12 subjects/1.5 years credit into Melbourne Polytechnic's Engineers Australia accredited Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil)
