The Diploma of Interpreting is intended to prepare students to obtain the opportunity to choose a new career path or to expand a current path through national recognized qualification. This program also develops learns existing skills further or have existing skills to meet the pre-requisite to sit the NAATI certified provisional interpreter test and/or set the foundation for student further studies in this specialized area.
To be awarded the Diploma of Interpreting, competency must be achieved in 12 units of competency consisting of 7 core units and 5 electives.

Course Assessment:
Trainer/Assessor will use the correct assessment tools to gather sufficient and quality evidence about student performance in order to make the assessment decision based on the qualification training and assessment strategy. Assessment evidence will include case studies, projects, written reports, written questions, presentations and exams.

To apply learner must be more than 18 years of age at the time of course commencement.
Overseas student Applicants for this course must have completed at least one year of a Bachelor or a Master degree where English is the medium of Instruction. If the Bachelor or Master degree is completed off shore and not completed with English as the medium of instruction, then candidates must have an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent to IELTS (no band less than 6). Evidence of LOTE (Language other than English) background learning, i.e. High School certificate/degrees. Otherwise an EIE internal LOTE proficiency test is required.
