Course Delivery and Assessment Methods
Delivery is conducted on campus and includes face to face teaching in classroom with tutorials and practicals delivered in Automotive Workshops, where students have the opportunity for hands on learning.
Assessments comprise of written questions, observation of demonstrations, project work, report, documentation etc.
Pathways
After achieving this qualification, individuals could progress to AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or other relevant qualifications within the training package.
Course Structure
A total of 10 Units (1 core and 9 electives) must be completed and deemed competent to achieve the qualification AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.

Entry criteria
18 years or above
IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) or the successful completion of at least General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
Successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent.
Must have completed a AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
All the students commencing this course are required to complete Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test on the orientation day to assist VTI to identify student’s needs for additional support during their study with VTI.
