Summary

On successful completion of this course the student would be Awarded the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping which is a nationally recognised qualification.

This qualification reflects the job roles of workers in the accounting industry, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and of those employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It includes preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to activity statements. Individuals in these roles apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously, and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.

Knights College nationally recognised FNS40217 – Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping qualification has been designed to cater to individuals either preparing to launch a career as a professional bookkeeper, payroll officer, accounts clerk or BAS agent or those currently working in bookkeeping and accounting roles seeking extra skills, knowledge and a formal nationally recognised qualification.

To attain the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, 13 units of competency must be achieved.

Delivery and Assessment

This program is delivered face to face within a classroom environment and is also available via Online. A simulated workplace environment is utilised for the conduct of practical assessments scenarios and role plays.

Entry criteria

This is an entry-level accounting qualification, which means student can apply regardless they have some study and/or work background in accounting or bookkeeping. However, students need to possess the required Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills, which are essential to making reports in accordance with the standards and policies and procedures of the organization.
