Summary

This qualification reflects the role of senior civil works designers or para-professional designers who support professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

You’ll develop skills:

• Using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to produce detailed drawings, plans and

designs for construction work doing cost estimates and preparing material specifications

• Liaising with construction workers and project managers

• Inspecting completed works to ensure they meet specifications and regulations

• Conducting laboratory and/or field testing of materials, soil and water quality.

Completion

Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive a nationally recognised RII60515 – Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design certificate. Students who do not complete all units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment for partial completion of the RII60515 – Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, given that units are cleared in
accordance with the package and institute requirements.

Entry criteria

Academic Requirements:

Satisfactory completion of studies in the applicant's home country equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification is required for entry into this course.

English Language requirements:

We accept the admission to the students if they qualify in ANYONE (1) of the following:

? IELTS overall band of 5.5 [Not less than 5 in each module] equivalent or above
? TOEFL iBT test score band of 46 equivalent or above;
? PTE Academic band score 42 equivalent or above [[Not less than 36 in each module]] OR,
? Any other form which satisfies the Institution during their pre-enrolment interview

English Language requirements (Exemptions):

? Citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
? Enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language
Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other
than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
? Completed at least 5 years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA,
Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
? In the last 2 years, completed in Australia and in the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate
of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian
Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, while you held a student visa.
