Summary

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements. They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

Mode and Method of Delivery

Study mode: Full time (20 hours per week - 70% hours face to face and 30% hours online)

Delivery mode: Blended Model supported with Learning Management System.

Self Study: 10 hours per week self-directed learning, which may include independent reading, study and/or project work. The duration of self- directed learning per week may vary for individual students. These hours are separate from the hours required for delivery under Blended Learning model.

Qualification

On successful completion of this course the student would be awarded BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management which is nationally recognised qualification. This could help student gain entry into career paths or higher education in Business stream. Students who do not complete all units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a Diploma of Leadership & Management.

Pathway

Further training pathways from this qualification include, but are not limited to BSB80215 Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership or BSB80315 Graduate Certificate in Leadership Diversity or Higher Education.

Entry criteria

All students must be aged 18 years or over (International Students) at the time of applying for admission.

  • Satisfactory completion of studies in applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 11/12 qualification
  • IELTS band score of overall 5.5 (Academic or General) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and DIBP regulations (Please contact OIC staff for more details)
  • If student’s educational qualifications do not meet OIC’s admission requirements, other factors may be considered at the discretion of OIC.
  • Learners are required to be competent in written and spoken English and will undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to commencing the training
