This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in accounting and seeking professional recognition. At this level individuals are expected to apply theoretical and technical skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities. They have autonomy in performing complex operations and can be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad but generally well-defined parameters.

Course Structure and Mode of Delivery
There 14 units of competency in this qualification. This will be delivered over a period 104 weeks with 32 weeks of holidays, consisting of total of 13.5 hours per week of classroom based face-to-face learning and 6.5 hours of online learning delivered through SMC e-learning platform based on Moodle ( Click here to go to E-Learning site ) i.e., total of 20 hours per week.
Pathways from the Advanced Diploma of Accounting:
After achieving the FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting, candidates may undertake a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications to further enhance their career opportunities in their chosen field. Candidates may also choose to seek entry into an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Accounting at an Australian Higher Education Provider (subject to the Higher Education Provider’s course entry requirements).
