Summary

The Diploma in Arts is a 1-year fulltime course with the majority of course completed at AQF level 5. Whilst the Diploma provides the possibility for some specialisation it does not provide sufficient skill, knowledge or understanding as would be gained by the more rigorous development in the Associate Degree and Degree.

Diploma in Arts students’ undertake a core of Christian Foundation units. The course provides the opportunity for some specialisation and the student is able to pursue individual areas of interest available through College offerings.

Diploma in Arts graduates will obtain foundational knowledge, understanding and skills and the ability to apply these to various contexts.

The Diploma in Arts can comprise the first year of a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Applied Social Science. The Diploma of Arts is also an exit point from the College’s Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Applied Social Science. Students may complete the required Christian Foundations units online, other units or whole specialisations may be available online. Diploma in Arts graduates will be equipped to enter paraprofessional work in a range of contexts including supportive roles in churches, non-government and para-church organisations, and some youth and community development settings or to continue to further studies.

Apply cognitive, technical and creative skills to interpret and transmit solutions informed by a Christian worldview to sometimes complex problems in the Humanities, Social Sciences or the Creative Arts
Demonstrate autonomy, responsibility and accountability for personal actions and a continued commitment to learning in personal, employment, and scholarly contexts
