There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
RIVERDALE INSTITUTE has its own following admission requirement
- Successful completion of academic studies equivalent to Australian Year 12 education is required
- Must have evidence of English Language skills of IELTS 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0), TOEFL iBT score of 46, Cambridge English Advanced of 162, Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 42 or equivalent; alternatively, the student may provide evidence that they have completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Australia
- Students should have a reasonable level of fitness since working in this industry can be physically demanding. It is important for you to be at eye level with children which means a lot of bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, stretching, and lifting
- It is a Training Package requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR adult and child manikin placed on the floor and on a CPR baby manikin placed on a firm surface.
- Students must participate in a minimum of 120 hours of work placement. This will allow time to develop hands-on skills and experience in childcare and demonstrate the practical competencies required to complete the course.
