If your study so far hasn’t been research-based, this doctoral program provides intensive tuition for the first year. On passing the first-year components with a 70% average, you’ll begin an original thesis, graduating within the standard timeframe.

Course structure

To attain the award of Doctor of Philosophy through undertaking the Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated) students will be required to completed in total 384 credit points consisting of:

  • 72 credit points of Core studies in Year 1
  • 24 credit points of Elective studies in Year 1
  • 288 credit points of Thesis units as per standard PhD

Entry criteria

Entry into a research program (postgraduate study) requires completion of: an honours degree, or a masters degree by coursework with a research component, or an equivalent qualification from an approved university.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic module): Overall score of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)

TOEFL Internet: Overall score of 79 (Listening 19, Speaking 19, Reading 18, Writing 22)

Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 58 (no section score less than 50)

University of Cambridge - Advanced (CAE): Overall score of 176. No individual band less than 169.

VU English - English for Academic Purposes (EAP) (Level 6): Achieved
