International Trade

If you'd like to analyse international markets and follow a career where your expertise helps to inform essential trade strategies, then choose the International Trade major as part of VU's Bachelor of Business.

You'll gain an understanding of core economic principles and your career will focus on devising and assessing strategies to improve overall trade and investment between Australia and other countries around the world.

After developing a solid grounding in business in your first year, customize your degree with a major in International Trade.

In the Bachelor of Business International Trade major you will examine strategies on enhancing overall trade and investment, enabling you to manage projects and make decisions that facilitate trade between Australia and other countries. International Trade graduates will be able to analyze international markets and propose incentives, policies, interventions, entry strategies and harmonization standards to firms, educational institutions, governments or other bodies.

Upon graduation, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to propose policies, interventions and strategies to a range of organisations such as corporations, governments and educational institutions.

Entry criteria

Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English (or equivalent). OR: Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent). OR: Completion of a Foundation course or equivalent.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic module): Overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 6.0)

TOEFL Internet: Overall score of 67 (Listening 12, Speaking 18, Reading 15, Writing 21)

Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 50 (no section score less than 50)
