Summary

When you study the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural), you will develop your architectural building design skills in both the residential and commercial areas of the industry. You will work on real projects, reflecting real-life work practices, responding to real client briefs.

Through this course, you will acquire the professional skills and knowledge required for sustainable design, drafting and documentation of residential, industrial and commercial buildings.

Emphasis is on the design process, construction technology, integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM), presentation and production of working drawings, using industry standards and the latest architectural software and virtual experiences.

You will also have access to design studios with high computer labs, the latest technology including industrial 3d Printers, Virtual and Mixed Reality.

Architectural Building Design elements will be incorporated in project-based learning; you will have opportunities to develop a variety of skills, including technical and research skills in an environment of self-paced learning, which may include study tours and site visits.
