The Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis course provides advanced training for automotive technicians who want to further develop their diagnostic and technical skills. This automotive diagnostics course enables participants to enter employment in a senior, supervisory, or managerial role within the automotive and repair industry.

Modes of Study

This course requires face to face classroom study and compulsory work placement (arranged by Kangan Institute) of 200 hours. Classes will be scheduled between 8.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday. Timetables will be confirmed at orientation.

  • Academic: Australian Year 12 equivalency or higher
  • English language: Academic IELTS 5.5 overall no band less than 5.0 or recognised equivalent


  • Successful completion of Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology ( A).
